Samsung led the Q1 2025 global smartphone market thanks to solid sales of its flagships and mid-range devices alike. Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy S25 Ultra turns out to be the fan favorite Android smartphone in several countries, including the US. Samsung’s flagship offering made it to the list of the five best-selling smartphone models in March 2025.

Galaxy S25 Ultra is the Android buyer’s choice in multiple markets

While other OEMs also offer solid Android smartphones, consumers prioritize brand as well when choosing their devices. There are several Android smartphones available on the market, but Samsung’s flagship Ultra model has proven to be the consumer favorite.

According to Counterpoint Research, the Galaxy S25 Ultra accounted for 8% of all smartphone sales in the US in March. This allowed Samsung to hold the fourth position in the top five best-selling smartphones list. Likewise, it achieved a 7% share in Germany and 21% in South Korea, becoming the outright favorite among Android smartphone buyers.

As you have noticed in Korea, the sales share is fairly high compared to the other countries. The reason is that Korea is the home country of Samsung, so it has a lot of loyal customers nationwide. The three Galaxy S25 models held the top three positions, followed by the Galaxy A16 in the fourth spot.

While Samsung made it into the best-selling list, it fell short of Apple’s flagship offering. In the US and Germany, the top three positions were held by the latest iPhones: iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16. Samsung has been struggling to gain an edge in the US and German smartphone markets for years. However, the good thing is that the sales gap to iPhones is not significantly higher. The Korean firm could go higher up the table in the future.

So, what makes the Galaxy S25 Ultra a top Android smartphone among consumers in these countries? Simply put, the device’s improved camera, top-tier performance, solid battery life, and meaningful AI upgrades played a big role in driving strong demand.
