Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge is the slimmest device in the Galaxy S history. As it measures just 5.8mm thick and weighs only 163g, some prospective buyers might have concerns over its durability. Rest assured, this ultra-slim flagship has a solid build quality. The phone passed JerryRigEverything’s brutal bend test, meaning it can withstand significant pressure.

Galaxy S25 Edge features Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 display protection

While the durability of slim phones is undoubtedly a concern, Samsung is confident it has found the right balance. The Galaxy S25 Edge features Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, a new glass ceramic that delivers advanced protection in the ultra-thin device. Crystals embedded within its glass matrix make the screen tougher and better at resisting cracks.

On the back, it features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, offering enhanced durability and scratch resistance. Speaking of the frame, Samsung has used a titanium frame on its slim smartphone to offer enduring protection for everyday use. On top of that, the phone’s IP68 rating ensures it is water and dust resistant.

Survives JerryRigEverything’s bend test

Popular YouTuber Zack Nelson of JerryRigEverything recently put the Galaxy S25 Edge through the paces to see if the phone could handle tough conditions. Unsurprisingly, the phone offered decent scratch resistance and survived the bend test, despite its slim profile. Even though Zack forced the phone to bend, it did not break, and the titanium frame showed little to no damage.

The display started to scratch at level six on the Mohs scale, which is normal and means the screen can handle most everyday scratches. Zack also put the phone’s screen to the heat for over 30 seconds, and it did not take any permanent damage. This shows the Korean firm has done an excellent job with its slim phone.

While Samsung did not compromise on durability, one main area where we do see a compromise is the camera. The Galaxy S25 edge doesn’t have a telephoto zoom camera, which may be a concern for photography enthusiasts. The good part is that the phone features a 200MP main sensor, similar to the Ultra model in the lineup. And the implementation of Qualcomm’s flagship chipset, Snapdragon 8 Elite, makes the Galaxy S25 Edge a solid choice. You can buy from the official US store by clicking here.
