Galaxy Z Fold 7 Leak Reveals Familiar Zoom Camera, Possible Price Hike

Samsung’s next-generation foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, is just weeks away from launch. If the rumors hold true, the device, alongside the Flip 7, should go official in the first half of July. As the company ramps up final-stage testing, more detailed leaks are starting to emerge. The latest leak sheds light on the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s zoom camera specs and pricing details.
Galaxy Z Fold 7’s zoom camera specs reveal no surprises
Samsung is widely rumored to equip the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with a 200MP primary camera. It should be the same sense as the Galaxy S25 Ultra. There has also been some chatter about the new foldable getting the Ultra’s 50MP ultrawide lens, though some reports suggest it will retain the Fold 6’s 12MP ultrawide camera.
When it comes to the zoom camera, Samsung doesn’t seem to be offering any upgrades. The company is currently testing the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with a 3x optical zoom camera with up to 30x digital zoom. There is no 4x or higher optical zoom option available on the latest test device. This might disappoint users hoping for higher optical zoom capabilities, but Samsung may have made up its mind.
There’s one more piece of potentially disappointing news for prospective Galaxy Z Fold 7 buyers. Industry insiders claim they have “confirmed” information about the new foldable seeing a price hike in some countries. Samsung might maintain pricing similar to last year’s foldables in most global markets, but buyers in some regions may have to spend more.
To recall, Samsung increased its foldable prices by $100 last year. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 starts at $1,899 and the Flip 6 at $1,099 in the US. The 2025 models may cost more in some regions. With testing underway and the official launch drawing close, more details about these devices should surface in the coming weeks.
