Galaxy S25’s New One UI 8 Test Build Has a Screen DPI Scaling Bug

Alongside the public One UI 8 beta build, Samsung is also testing several internal builds for the Galaxy S25 series. However, its latest internal test version has a serious issue related to screen DPI scaling. Though this bug is likely to be resolved in future builds, it underscores the unpredictable nature of software development, where critical issues can arise at any stage of testing.
Samsung is testing a new internal One UI 8 build for the Galaxy S25 series
With the launch of the 2025 Galaxy foldables, Samsung marked the debut of its highly anticipated One UI 8 software based on Android 16. The Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip FE ship with the new OS out of the box. At the same time, Samsung is gearing up to release One UI 8 for its other Galaxy devices. In fact, a few weeks ago, it opened the beta program for the Galaxy S25 series, and it may hit the stable channel next month.
Ahead of the stable rollout, a new internal build recently surfaced on the web, identified by build number BYG3. Some enthusiasts installed it on their Galaxy S25 devices to explore what’s new and what needs improvement. They discovered that the build carries a critical issue — the company probably misconfigured the screen DPI. This results in blurry text across the system, leading to a poor user experience.
Tipster @UniverseIce on X wrote, “Please note: The screen dpi of the latest version of Galaxy S25 Ultra One UI 8 BYG3 was messed up by Samsung, so that the text became blurred and looked unclear”. Since this is an internal test build, such bugs are common, and the company usually fixes them before the final release.
Speaking of the previous test build, Samsung made significant improvements to system fluency for smoother performance. On top of that, it brought improved battery efficiency for longer screen-on time. The Korean firm should bundle these enhancements with the stable version for the Galaxy S25 series. We will let you know once the final build becomes available. Stay tuned.
