Samsung Preps Further System Fluency Improvements in One UI 8

With each new One UI 8 beta release, Samsung is continuing to improve the software experience for Galaxy S25 users. The company appears to be testing a new beta build with enhanced system fluency. It’s unclear whether Samsung will push these improvements with the next beta release (if any) or if it will keep them for the final build.
Samsung updated the kernel version in the latest One UI 8 internal build
Based on Android 16, One UI 8 arrives as a refinement update rather than a major overhaul. As usual, ahead of the stable rollout, the Korean company launched the beta program for its flagship Galaxy S25 series in select regions. A few days ago, it pushed the third beta of One UI 8 to all eligible beta participants. The latest build brings a host of bug fixes and enhances overall system stability.
Samsung is simultaneously testing new One UI 8 builds internally. Well-known tipster @UniverseIce managed to install a July internal build on their Galaxy S25 Ultra. Carrying the version number BYG1, this build contains a notable change — kernel version jumps from 6.6.57 to 6.6.77. The tipster notes, “This is the first time that the kernel version has been upgraded since S25 Ultra conducted the internal test of ONE UI 8.”
This suggests Samsung has further improved system fluency and responsiveness in the latest internal build. This should result in smoother app performance, faster app switching, and an overall improved user experience. However, you can’t install this version right away, as it is an internal build. Developers and enthusiasts have somehow managed to get access to it ahead of release and are sharing their experiences.
Meanwhile, Samsung is preparing the stable One UI 8 version to ship with the upcoming foldable devices. Eventually, the Korean tech giant will roll out the final version to older Galaxy devices, starting with the Galaxy S25 series. The rollout may begin in August and gradually expand to more devices.
