Samsung May Not Launch Galaxy Buds 4 This Year

A few days ago, Samsung launched the Galaxy Buds Core (hands-on experience), its entry-level wireless earbuds. The company is expected to follow up with the Galaxy Buds 3 FE later this year as a mid-range offering. But what about a new pair of flagship wireless earbuds? We finally have an answer: those are in development but may not arrive anytime soon. Samsung is laying the groundwork for the Galaxy Buds 4, with the timing suggesting an early 2026 launch alongside the Galaxy S26 series.

Galaxy Buds 4 wireless earbuds are in development

Samsung launched the Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro in mid-2024 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6. Naturally, many expected it to introduce the Galaxy Buds 4 series with the 2025 foldable lineup, which will arrive next week. However, that isn’t happening. The July 9 Unpacked won’t bring a new pair of wireless earbuds. We will get the Fold 7, Flip 7, Flip 7 FE, Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, and more, but no Galaxy Buds.

That said, Samsung is internally working on the Galaxy Buds 4, Galaxy Club confirms. At this stage, technical details and design specifics for the new pair remain under wraps. In fact, it’s not even clear if the company plans to release just a base model or continue with a Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro duo. However, based on current development timelines, the new flagship earbuds offering from Samsung may not arrive until early 2026, which is when it’ll launch the Galaxy S26 series.

The Galaxy Buds 4 should retain the stemmed design Samsung introduced with the Buds 3 series. You can also expect improvements in audio quality and active noise cancellation (ANC), as well as better battery life, smarter features, and possibly a more refined fit and finish. More detailed leaks about these buds should surface in the coming months as Samsung moves ahead with their development.
