Galaxy S25 FE Enters One UI Software Testing Phase

It’s no secret that Samsung has one more Galaxy S25 model in the pipeline. The Galaxy S25 FE will join the S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge later this year, and signs of its development continue to surface. The latest confirmation comes from internal firmware activity. Samsung has begun testing One UI 8 on the device, signaling that preparations for its launch are well underway.
One UI 8 testing confirms ongoing development of the Galaxy S25 FE
Spotted by firmware tracker @Alfaturk16, a new entry on Samsung’s internal firmware servers reveals that the company has begun testing One UI software for the Galaxy S25 FE. The phone, identified by the model number SM-S731B, is currently running test firmware version S731BXXU0AYFB. While the listing doesn’t specify the One UI version, Samsung should ship the device with Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box. One UI 8 will go official at the upcoming Unpacked on July 9.
As far as the launch timeline is concerned, we do not have concrete information yet. However, the industry expectation is that Samsung will release the Galaxy S25 FE between September and October this year. For reference, the Galaxy S24 FE was announced in September 2024 and reached store shelves by October. A similar release window could be in the cards for its successor.
Besides shipping with One UI 8, the Galaxy S25 FE is expected to be powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2400e — the same chipset used in the Galaxy S24 FE. While that’s not inherently bad, it’s a far cry from a next-gen leap many were hoping for. Or maybe the company will upgrade it to the Exynos 2500; we shall find out in the coming months. Meanwhile, you can feast your eyes on these exclusive renders showing the Galaxy S25 FE from multiple angles.
