Samsung has begun rolling out One UI 8 to the Galaxy S24 series outside Korea. The update is now live for beta users in the UK, with more regions expected to follow shortly. A wider release for all Galaxy S24 owners worldwide, including non-beta units, should arrive in the coming days.

Galaxy S24 series gets One UI 8 in more markets

A few weeks ago, Samsung launched the One UI 8 beta program for the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra (S24 FE is not included) in South Korea, India, the US, and the UK. The Korean company recently kicked off the stable rollout in its home market. Now, the update is available in the UK, signaling a wider release. The update should soon be available globally.

The stable One UI 8 release for the Galaxy S24 series carries firmware version CYI7. The OTA (over the air) package for beta users weighs just over 500MB, which is typical. This update essentially bumps them from the beta build to the stable one, with no substantial changes under the hood.

However, for users upgrading from One UI 7, this is a huge update. The exact size varies depending on the model and region, but One UI 8 comes with an approximately 4GB download. Based on Android 16, the update brings a mix of fresh design touches, smarter AI features, and smoother performance. The interface feels more polished, with cleaner animations and improved customization options.

Samsung has also leaned heavily into Galaxy AI, expanding features like live translation, text summarization, and image editing, while making them faster and more intuitive. Under the hood, the update optimizes battery efficiency and system stability, ensuring a snappier, more reliable experience across both flagships and mid-range devices. One UI 8 will gradually reach more Galaxy devices in the coming weeks.
