Samsung is pulling out all the stops with its upcoming launches. The company is said to be working on at least two affordable, entry-level earbuds, likely part of the Galaxy Buds FE lineup. One of them has already been revealed in select markets as the Galaxy Buds Core. Now, the Galaxy Buds FE 3 has been spotted in the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) database.

Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 3 FE shows up at the FCC, launch soon

The upcoming Galaxy Buds Core appeared in the FCC database earlier today with the model number SM-R420, signaling that the entry-level earbuds are likely launching soon. The model number and name haven’t been a mystery. These earbuds were first spotted a few weeks ago in the Galaxy Wearable app. More recently, leaker Evan Blass shared a render of the Galaxy Buds 3 FE, although that post has since been taken down.

The Galaxy Buds 3 FE will feature a design similar to the Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro, including the new stem-based shape. The stems are expected to support touch controls for volume, active noise cancellation, ambient sound, and music playback. Samsung will also bring in Galaxy AI features such as Interpreter Mode, along with water and dust resistance, audio equalizer, and more.

Galaxy Buds 3 FE 3

You might still be wondering why there is no Galaxy Buds 2 FE or Buds FE 2. It comes down to the model numbers. The original Galaxy Buds FE carries the model number SM-R400. The Galaxy Buds Core (first impressions) uses SM-R410, making it a direct follow-up. Now, the Galaxy Buds 3 FE shows up with SM-R420. This confirms that it’s the next in the series and should be launching soon.

Some rumors suggest that the Galaxy Buds 3 FE might launch alongside the Galaxy S25 FE. Samsung has already confirmed that the S25 FE will arrive earlier than the last generation. Which leads us to believe the new earbuds could show up in late August or September.
