Galaxy Buds Core and Galaxy Buds 3 FE Surface in Samsung App Code

Samsung is developing at least two affordable pairs of earbuds, if code strings are anything to go by. The first name isn’t very surprising, as it has also been confirmed through FCC and BIS listings. Yes, we’re talking about the Galaxy Buds Core. What might join (or perhaps, even succeed) the Galaxy Buds Core is the Galaxy Buds 3 FE.

And now, fine folks at Android Authority reveal that Samsung may actually be developing both the Galaxy Buds Core and the Galaxy Buds 3 FE. Yes, the branding doesn’t make much sense, but that’s what the early code strings in the Galaxy Wearable app suggest. Technically, the Galaxy Buds Core should be the direct successor to the Galaxy Buds FE, especially since there’s been no mention of a Galaxy Buds FE 2 so far.

Naturally, one would expect the Galaxy Buds Core to take over (or perhaps see the debut of the Galaxy Buds FE 2). But according to the code, both the Galaxy Buds Core and Galaxy Buds 3 FE are in development. More specifically, the app lists model R400 as the Galaxy Buds FE, R410 as the Galaxy Buds Core, and R420 as the Galaxy Buds 3 FE. It’s still too early to say anything is confirmed. But all signs suggest that Samsung plans to skip the “2” in its naming.

That said, the Galaxy Buds Core will have a bigger battery than its predecessor. As for a release, Samsung does have an upcoming event. But the chances seem slim that either of them will be announced there. A more likely launch window could be when the Galaxy S25 FE or Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE launch.
