Galaxy A27 Appears in Internal Samsung Records, On Track for 2026 Launch

It’s no surprise that Samsung is preparing several new Galaxy A phones for 2026. As part of its annual refresh cycle, the company is expected to introduce successors to all of its 2025 budget and mid-range models next year. The latest device to surface in internal development records is the Galaxy A27, confirming that it’s on track for a 2026 launch.
Samsung ramps up development of Galaxy A27 for 2026
While the Galaxy S26 lineup is grabbing most of the attention, evidence confirms active development of the Galaxy A57 and A37. Now the Galaxy A27 has surfaced on the Samsung database, signaling that the company is secretly working on the phone. The handset carries a familiar model number, SM-A276, sticking to the company’s current nomenclature.
Successor to this year’s Galaxy A26, the upcoming model will sit below the more capable A37 in Samsung’s 2026 lineup. As of this writing, the Galaxy S27’s specs remain under wraps. However, expect the core hardware to remain unchanged from the A26. We are talking about a 120Hz Super AMOLED display, 5,000 mAh battery, 25W fast charging, and a 50MP main camera.
That said, rivals and consumers are pressing Samsung to increase the battery capacity and charging speed of its phones. It will be interesting to see if the Galaxy A27 brings any changes in these areas. The device should debut alongside the Galaxy A37 and A57 in March or April next year. All three models will ship with Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box, if not One UI 8.5.
Interestingly, Samsung appears to have silently upgraded the Galaxy A56 to seven years of updates from six years it originally promised. The Galaxy A57 should get the same support, while the Galaxy A27 and A37 should qualify for six major Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates. Expect more leaks about these phones in the coming months.
