The wait is finally over — Samsung has begun rolling out the stable One UI 8 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch 7. As expected, the rollout starts with beta testers in South Korea, who are the first to move to the stable version. A broader release is expected in the coming days, and other eligible Galaxy Watch models should soon follow.

Samsung updates the Galaxy Watch 7 to One UI 8 Watch stable

Based on Wear OS 6, One UI 8 Watch is the latest iteration of Samsung’s custom watch platform. It debuted with the Galaxy Watch 8 series in July, with beta versions available for select models. The Galaxy Watch Ultra has already received the stable version, and the Watch 7 is now making the move.

For now, the stable update is available only in South Korea. Samsung has yet to announce the timeline for the global rollout, but it likely won’t be long before users in other regions receive the same update. Korean beta users are receiving the new firmware with the build version BYI4, which also includes the September 2025 security patch.

For beta users, this update only enhances the watch’s performance, power efficiency, and overall system stability, ensuring a smoother and more responsive user experience. However, those making the jump to One UI 8 Watch will notice massive UI changes, functionality upgrades, and tons of new features. It introduces new health and fitness features, AI integration, and enhancements to various system apps for an intuitive everyday experience.

One UI 8 Watch also improves customization to give users more control over their watches. Samsung has promised to update all Wear OS-powered Galaxy Watches (Watch 4 and newer) to the new version. The Watch 6 series, which is currently in beta, should be the next in the pipeline. Users can check for updates from the Galaxy Wearable app on their connected smartphones.
