Samsung Pushes new One UI 8 Watch Beta Update to Galaxy Watch 6

Less than a week after launching the One UI 8 Watch Beta program for the Galaxy Watch 6 series, Samsung is rolling out the second beta update. Registered users in South Korea can now download Beta 2, which brings bug fixes and performance improvements. The stable update may arrive sometime in October.

Galaxy Watch 6 series gets One UI 8 Watch Beta 2

The original Beta introduced Samsung’s new smartwatch operating system, One UI 8 Watch, to the Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic. Built on Wear OS 6, it offers new features, Samsung Health upgrades, AI integration, a refreshed interface, and improved functionality. This update is already available for the Galaxy Watch 8 series and the Watch Ultra.

Korean Galaxy Watch 6 users who participated in the beta program are now getting a fresh update with the build version ZYI5. The latest release weighs 158MB and focuses on performance improvements and bug fixes based on user feedback. Key changes include:

• Enhanced overall performance, addressing stability and responsiveness issues
• Fixed a customization service bug, which previously failed to activate after pairing the watch with a new phone
• Corrected Always On Display (AOD) issues, ensuring all watch faces now function properly with AOD enabled

For participants in the Beta Program, updating is straightforward. Open the Galaxy Wearable app, navigate to Watch Settings > Software update, and tap Download and install to get the latest beta build. Samsung is unlikely to launch the beta program anywhere else, so users in other regions must wait for the stable release.

The Galaxy Watch 7 (beta already closed for this model) should be the next to receive the stable One UI 8 Watch update, followed by the Watch 6 series. The Galaxy Watch 5, Watch 4, and Watch FE models are also eligible for this update. Samsung is expected to complete the rollout before the end of the year.
