Excited for One UI 8 Beta? Here’s When Your Galaxy S24 or S23 May Get It

Samsung recently announced an expansion of its One UI 8 beta program to more Galaxy devices. Starting next week, the company will roll out beta updates for a bunch of Galaxy smartphones and tablets, including a few mid-range models. Now, fresh details from a reliable source give us a clearer picture of when the Galaxy S24 and S23 series will get access to the much-anticipated Android 16-based update.

Galaxy S24 to get One UI 8 beta in mid-August, Galaxy S23 in September

According to tipster Tarun Vats, the Galaxy S24 series may receive the One UI 8 beta on August 13. Samsung has already confirmed that beta updates for the S24 lineup, along with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6, will begin rolling out next week, starting August 11. The company appears to be opting for a staggered release, likely beginning in South Korea, followed by India, the US, and the UK.

Galaxy S23 users, meanwhile, will need to wait a bit longer. As per the same source, Samsung plans to release the first beta update for the 2023 flagships around September 8. The Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5, and the Tab S10 series may also get One UI 8 beta programs around the same time. The company could then expand the beta to the Galaxy A55, A54, A36, and A35 later that month.

Samsung has already confirmed that September will mark the start of the official public rollout of One UI 8. The Galaxy S25 series, which has picked up four beta builds, will be the first to make the jump. Note that the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE already ship with One UI 8 out of the box. A wide global rollout may begin sometime in October, with Samsung possibly delivering One UI 8 to all eligible models before the end of the year.
