Every 3 in 10 Galaxy Z Fold 7 Buyers Are Longtime Galaxy S Ultra Users

It’s been several weeks since Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and the response has exceeded expectations. At least, that’s what the pre-order numbers have been indicating. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is drawing more attention than ever, particularly from longtime Galaxy S Ultra owners.
Samsung says the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is selling twice as fast as its predecessor
Samsung says that nearly 30% of Galaxy Z Fold 7 buyers in the US are switching from Ultra models, signaling that foldables are becoming a serious alternative to traditional flagship phones. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 delivers much of what made the Ultra popular, including high-end performance, top-tier cameras, and premium build quality, while introducing the unique flexibility of a foldable design. It comes days after a Counterpoint report said that Galaxy Z Fold 7 is becoming mainstream in Western Europe.

Samsung has slimmed down the Galaxy Z Fold 7, making it lighter and more durable than earlier models. It is also technically the slimmest foldable available globally, as confirmed by independent tests. The only significant compromise is the removal of S Pen support to keep the design thin, but for many users that trade-off is worth it.
Early sales data show strong demand for the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Samsung reports that it is selling roughly 50% faster than the Fold 6 at the same point in its release cycle. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is also performing well, attracting new users from other brands and expanding Samsung’s foldable audience. Combined pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 have jumped more than 25% compared to last year, with carrier-linked orders in the US rising nearly 60%.
And if you’re considering a switch, there is still time. Samsung is offering a free double storage upgrade on the Galaxy Z Fold 7, meaning you can pay for the 256GB model and take home the 512GB variant. It is available in Jetblack, Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, and an online-exclusive Mint color.
