Breaking! One UI 8 Beta Available for Galaxy S23 Series

Samsung has launched the One UI 8 Beta program for the Galaxy S23 series. Users in India and South Korea can now join the program to get an early taste of Android 16 on their devices. The company will also roll out beta updates in the UK and the US shortly.
Galaxy S23 gets One UI 8 Beta, more devices to follow
The Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra join their successors — the Galaxy S24 and S25 series — as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 in the One UI 8 Beta program. Samsung also plans beta updates for the Galaxy Tab S10 series, Fold 5, Flip 5, and several mid-range models, all of which are expected to pick up their first beta builds this week.
The initial beta release for the Galaxy 23 series carries firmware version ZYHB, with the OTA package weighing over 3GB. It’s the same build that Samsung recently rolled out to the Galaxy S24, S25, Fold 6, and Flip 6, suggesting a synchronized development. The September security patch is part of the package, but the update is more about new features and enhancements.
Built on Android 16, One UI 8 introduces refinements across the interface, smarter Galaxy AI features, and deeper personalization options. Samsung has focused on improving device performance and efficiency, ensuring smoother animations, faster multitasking, and longer-lasting battery life. One UI 8 also benefits from enhanced privacy and security controls.
If you use a Galaxy S23 model (not FE) in India, South Korea, the UK, or the US, you can participate in the Beta program through the Samsung Members app. Look for the One UI 8 Beta banner and follow the on-screen instructions to register your device. While the beta build is quite stable, you may encounter a few issues in some apps. The stable version arrives later this month, though the Galaxy S23 series may not get it until October.
