A lot of people use Android Auto every day, and if something goes wrong, it can affect a ton of users. That seems to be the case right now, according to user reports. Several users are saying that the Android Auto 15.2 update has messed up the Quick Controls feature.

Quick Controls giving you trouble on Android Auto? You’re far from alone

Quick Controls has long been a handy feature for Android Auto users, letting them access media playback and navigation without switching apps. However, with the Android Auto 15.2 update, the feature isn’t working on certain display setups.

Users with vertically oriented taskbars have noticed that toggling Quick Controls no longer moves the bar to the bottom of the screen like it used to. On Reddit and Google’s forums (via 9to5Google), users report that the issue first appeared in late September and has been spreading as the update rolls out.

Interestingly, Quick Controls still seems to work on horizontal displays, which suggests Google has not removed it entirely. Whether this is an intentional change or an unintended bug is still unclear, and the company hasn’t commented yet.

There’s currently no reliable workaround. Some users say clearing the Android Auto app data and reconnecting temporarily fixes it, but the problem tends to return soon after. We will keep you updated when there is a fix or any official word from Google. Until then, stay tuned.
