Samsung has partnered with Intrepid Museum in New York City, and the company is hosting a pop-up event. The eight-week event combines history and technology, which means a new way to explore one of the nation’s most famous museums.

Samsung has joined forces with the Intrepid Museum for an eight-week-long event

For those who don’t know, the Intrepid Museum is a National Historic Landmark built inside a real aircraft carrier, the USS Intrepid. It served in World War II, the Cold War, and the Vietnam War, and now sits permanently docked along the Hudson River.

The event allows guests to use Samsung tablets or their own devices to learn more about the museum’s exhibits. After registering on a tablet, visitors can point their camera at aircraft, ships, or other displays and ask Gemini questions about what they’re seeing. As it works, Gemini Live can give you information, facts and history.

Guests can also earn points by answering quiz questions and competing on a digital leaderboard. Top scorers have a chance to win prizes. That could be either a Galaxy phone, a Galaxy tablet, Music Frames, or even Galaxy Buds.

The Intrepid Museum is located on Pier 86 along the Hudson River in New York City. Visitors can explore a wide range of attractions, including historic aircraft, a NASA space shuttle, and even a real submarine. There’s also a g-force simulator ride, a virtual reality experience, and access to the ship’s control room.

The museum is fully accessible with elevators. However, the submarine may be difficult for some guests to enter due to tight spaces. It’s open seven days a week, and visitors coming from New Jersey can take a short ferry ride across the Hudson, followed by a brief walk to the pier.
