Samsung has been focusing heavily on AI for innovation across its two main business divisions: DS (Device Solutions) and DX (Device eXperience). In the 2026 New Year addresses, company executives shared their views on developing AI solutions and then integrating them across both semiconductors and consumer devices. The Korean firm will also prioritize delivering an improved experience for its customers.

Samsung plans to bet big on AI across chips and devices

Samsung provides a complete “one-stop solution” that includes memory, logic chips, foundry services, and advanced packaging. This will help the DS Division respond to the growing demand for AI semiconductors to lead the AI era. Jeon Young-hyun, the Vice Chairman and Head of the DS Division at Samsung Electronics, said, “We must leverage the latest AI technologies and high-quality data to develop AI solutions specialized for semiconductors”. These solutions will then be applied to semiconductor design, R&D, manufacturing, and quality management processes.

Jeon also said the company’s HBM4, the 6th high-bandwidth memory chip, has received strong customer praise. The leader likely referred to its achievement during SiP testing on its HBM4 chips by both Nvidia and Broadcom. Speaking of the foundry business, Samsung plans to turn emerging opportunities into success. The company has already signed deals with several major clients, like Tesla, to make chips using its next-generation 2nm process.

Meanwhile, Noh Tae-moon, Head of the DX Division, said, “We must organically integrate AI technology into all devices and service ecosystems in the DX sector to provide customers with the best possible experience.” The executives believe that AI is not just a tool but a way to transform the company’s work processes and mindset.

Basically, Samsung wants to integrate cutting-edge AI capabilities across smartphones, TVs, home appliances, and wearable devices. As such, the company will take a big step forward as a leader in the AI transformation. It is now gearing up to showcase its latest smart innovations at CES 2026.
