Missing the S Pen? Samsung’s Wide Fold Could Bring It Back

Are you missing the S Pen support on the Galaxy Z Fold 7? Well, Samsung’s next-generation foldable lineup could introduce a new Wide Fold model that brings the stylus back. This may slightly increase the device’s thickness, but users won’t have to compromise on productivity.
Galaxy Wide Fold could rival Apple with the S Pen
Samsung continues to make each new generation of the Galaxy Z Fold thinner and lighter. The latest Galaxy Z Fold 7 measures just 4.2 mm unfolded and 8.9 mm folded, weighing only 215 grams. Its slim and lightweight design makes it more comfortable to use, but this comes at a cost: the company removed S Pen support.
Thankfully, the upcoming Wide Fold could bring the S Pen back. According to yeux1122, Samsung is developing a new foldable model to compete with Apple’s first foldable iPhone. This Wide Fold will be different from the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 in terms of screen ratio and thickness.
In fact, we had already heard rumors of a Galaxy Wide Fold, but what’s new is that the model may support the S Pen. Since the thickness could increase slightly, Samsung may include a digitizer layer that allows the device to detect S Pen input.
Meanwhile, Samsung is reportedly developing advanced stylus technology that could allow the S Pen to work without a traditional digitizer. This solution will bring support for the S Pen without adding bulk to the device. However, it is unlikely that the company will use this technology in the Wide Fold. The firm might reserve it for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, but only time will tell.
Speaking of other leaked specs of the Galaxy Wide Fold, the device may feature a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch cover screen. The unfolded screen may have a 4:3 aspect ratio. More details should surface on the web as development progresses.
