Galaxy A15 5G, A53, M53, and M44 Grab December 2025 Security Patch

Samsung is continuing the rollout of the December 2025 security update, and the pace remains good this week. The company has added several mid-range Galaxy smartphones to the list. The Galaxy A15 5G, Galaxy A53, Galaxy M53, and Galaxy M44 are the latest devices to receive the update.

The Galaxy Buddy3, popularly known as A15 5G outside of Korea, has started getting the December 2025 security patch. The update has released in South Korea and should expand to more regions in the coming days. The December update for the Galaxy A15 5G in Korea carries the build version A156LKSS7CYL1.

The Galaxy A53 has also joined the December 2025 update list. Samsung has rolled out the update for the device in regions like Vietnam and Malaysia. The firmware version for the Galaxy A53 in these regions is A536EXXSIGYL3. The December 2025 security patch fixes around 68 security vulnerabilities identified by Samsung, Google, and their partners. It does not bring any major new features.

On the Galaxy M series side, the Galaxy M44 has started receiving the December 2025 security patch in South Korea. The update for the Galaxy M44 comes with the build number M446KKSS7EYL1. Meanwhile, the Galaxy M53 has received the December update in markets such as Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and Taiwan. The December 2025 patch for the Galaxy M53 carries the build info M536BXXSCGYL2.

Also, these devices are expected to be eligible for One UI 8.5 as well. It’s expected to make its stable debut alongside the Galaxy S26 series in early 2026. The release for other Galaxy devices should begin gradually after that. As usual, the availability may vary depending on region and model, so users may need to wait a little longer in some markets.

If you own any of the devices mentioned above and have not received the update yet, it should reach your region soon. You can manually check for the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once the download is complete, tap Install now, and your device will restart with the latest update installed.
