Samsung’s first triple-panel phone, the Galaxy Z TriFold, redefines the foldable experience. The device features a bunch of custom technologies to support its multi-folding form factor and thin design. One such innovation is a special wireless charging module from Wits that fits the phone’s slim structure.

Wits powers Galaxy Z TriFold with slim wireless charging tech

The Galaxy Z TriFold is different from Samsung’s previous foldable phones because it features two hinges. The dual hinges fold inward at different radii, so one section must close before the other. The phone measures 12.9 mm (folded) and just 3.9 mm at its thinnest point (unfolded). It uses a 5,600 mAh battery spread across three cells with support for 45W fast wired charging, 15W wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.

Speaking of wireless charging, Wits created a slim, custom charging module for the TriFold’s unique triple-fold design. The company engineered the module to fit the phone’s thin profile while supporting the 15W Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) Qi standard. Note that it does not feature built-in magnets, but it is Qi2 Ready, allowing it to work seamlessly with Qi2-compatible accessories.

It’s worth mentioning that Wits has previously supplied wireless charging solutions for Samsung’s Galaxy S and Z Fold series. Now, the company has expanded its expertise to the triple-fold form factor, helping Samsung overcome the challenges. “The fact that our components have been used in the initial models of the new device means that our technological perfection and stability have been recognized,” said a Wits representative.

Meanwhile, Samsung used Goodix’s advanced touchscreen controllers and an ultra-narrow side-key capacitive fingerprint sensor in the Galaxy Z TriFold. This ensures a smooth and responsive experience regardless of the phone’s folded or unfolded state. As of now, the device is available for purchase in South Korea and China. It could hit US store shelves in the first quarter of 2026.
