Samsung has taken foldable experience to the next level with its latest Galaxy Z TriFold. The device features some of the most innovative tech solutions, including Goodix’s advanced touchscreen controllers and ultra‑narrow side‑key capacitive fingerprint module. This ensures the phone offers a seamless, reliable user experience in both folded and unfolded states.

Goodix brings a seamless foldable experience to Galaxy Z TriFold

The Galaxy Z TriFold features three connected screens and a dual-hinge design that folds inward at different angles. This allows the device to switch between a large 10-inch main display and a 6.5-inch cover display. The inward folding design also protects the main screen from scratches.

To address the unique challenges of a multi-folding form factor, Goodix developed a custom touch solution for the TriFold. “Powered by Goodix’s proprietary hardware sampling architecture and noise‑suppression algorithms, it achieves a high signal‑to‑noise ratio (SNR) to ensure reliable touch response on its immersive 10-inch main display,” said Goodix.

Thanks to a form-adaptive touch algorithm, the phone can adjust to different folding positions. Whether the device is folded or unfolded, the touchscreen responds accurately, providing a smooth user experience in every mode. Apart from the touch technology, Goodix provides an ultra‑narrow side‑key capacitive fingerprint sensor, just 1.65 mm wide. This sensor fits perfectly into the TriFold’s slim frame.

Samsung has also equipped the Galaxy Z TriFold with pro-grade hardware. The device uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, paired with 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. For photography, the phone features three rear cameras: a 200MP primary unit, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 10MP 3x telephoto sensor. Both inner and outer screens have a 10MP selfie camera.

Despite its three panels, the Galaxy Z TriFold is incredibly thin with just 3.9 mm at its slimmest point. It also carries an IP48 rating for protection against dust and water. Samsung uses a 5,600 mAh battery (spread across three cells), with 45W fast charging support. Sadly, this innovative device won’t arrive in the US until the first quarter of 2026.
