Galaxy Z TriFold Prices Confirmed for One More Market

Last week, Samsung officially launched the Galaxy Z TriFold, its first-ever trifold smartphone. The company immediately announced the device’s availability in Korea and confirmed its planned release in select other markets. Now, Samsung has started taking pre-orders for the TriFold in one of those markets.
Galaxy Z TriFold pre-orders go live in China
Samsung is now accepting pre-orders for the Galaxy Z TriFold through its official online store in China. It’s selling the device in two configurations: 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB. They are priced at CNY 19,999 (approx. $2,830) and CNY 21,999 (approx. $3,110), respectively. These price tags put the TriFold in the luxury territory, though that comes as no surprise given its ambitious design and cutting-edge hardware.
To recall, the Galaxy Z TriFold starts at KRW 3,590,400 in Korea (approx. 2,450), so the local pricing across regions will differ. The device is also set to arrive in Taiwan, Singapore, the UAE, and the USA, with average prices expected to hover around $2,500 in most markets. Prospective buyers in the US will have to wait a while though, as the TriFold doesn’t arrive stateside until 2026.
Interestingly, unlike most other regions, China already has commercial trifold phones. Huawei’s Mate XTs Ultimate retails for CNY 17,999 (approx. $2,550) in the country, so Samsung has its task cut out to carve a market for the Galaxy Z TriFold there. If anything, its dual in-folding hinges might help attract consumers, as it offers enhanced durability to Huawei’s Z-shaped tri-folds.
As of now, Samsung hasn’t announced whether it plans to release the Galaxy Z TriFold beyond the aforementioned six markets. The absence of any European market, including the UK, is particularly surprising. It remains to be seen whether additional countries will be added in 2025, though limited production capacity for such a complex hardware design may be a factor.
