Samsung’s most ambitious foldable phone yet, the Galaxy Z TriFold, is now official. However, if you live in the US, you will need a little patience to experience the immersive screen on a phone. The device won’t arrive stateside until the first quarter of 2026. Even so, excitement is already building as it redefines the traditional foldable.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold arrives with dual hinges and triple-panel design

The Galaxy Z TriFold is gaining attention because it doesn’t just open once — it unfolds twice. Thanks to the phone’s unique dual-hinge design, it transforms from a compact phone (6.5-inch) into a big 10-inch display. Samsung has adopted an inward-folding design for both hinges to protect the main screen from scratches. The company also used an auto-alarm system to alert users if they fold the device incorrectly. This shows up on the screen with warnings and vibration feedback.

The Galaxy Z TriFold features a customized Snapdragon 8 Elite chip to deliver flagship performance. The phone boasts a 200MP camera to offer pro-grade photography in a new form factor. It uses a 5,600 mAh three-cell battery system with support for 45W fast charging.

On the software side, Galaxy Z TriFold runs Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box. The device packs a bunch of Galaxy AI tools, such as Generative Edit, Photo Assist, and Sketch to Image. It also supports Gemini Live, a multimodal AI that can understand what you see, say, and do in real time.

Samsung says the Galaxy Z TriFold will hit store shelves in South Korea on December 12, 2025. The phone will be available in a single Crafted Black color option with a price of KRW 3,590,400 (around $2,500). It will eventually reach other markets, including China, Taiwan, Singapore, the UAE, and the US. While the company hasn’t shared exact dates for these markets, it confirmed that US customers will get it sometime between January and March 2026. Pricing details for global markets are also still under wraps.
