Galaxy A57’s 45W Charging Speed Could Humiliate Flagship Galaxy S26

Leaks have stirred up some confusion around the Galaxy S26 series’ launch timeline. But according to the latest reports, Samsung is sticking to its schedule, and we’ll see the Galaxy S26 trio arrive in January 2026. As we get closer, more details about the upcoming models are slipping out. And there’s one area where a mid-range phone (or even the Galaxy S25 FE, for that matter) might actually edge out the Galaxy S26.
Galaxy A57 will support 45W charging speed, according to regulatory certification
Even though the Galaxy A56 took its sweet time getting to the US, it launched globally in March alongside its siblings. Whether the Galaxy A57 will follow the same path or finally arrive in the US is still unknown. What we have learned, however, is that the Galaxy A57 will support 45W charging (via Android Authority). Essentially, that’s the same as the current Galaxy A56.

As you probably know by now, the Galaxy S25 supports 25W wired charging. That’s something Samsung hasn’t bothered to improve in years. In fact, regulatory listings suggest the base Galaxy S26 model will also be capped at 25W, meaning no upgrade at all. Wouldn’t it be embarrassing for a flagship to get outclassed by the Galaxy A series, or even the Galaxy S25 FE? Someone, please tell them.
It’s about time Samsung changed course and showed a little love to the base model as well. Just because it costs a few hundred dollars less than the Plus and Ultra versions doesn’t mean it shouldn’t get the same attention. Rumors already point to 45W and even 60W wired charging for the Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra. So how about not leaving the base variant behind this time? Even Apple’s iPhone 17 now supports 40W wired charging. What do you think?
