If you are a YouTube Music user and want to quickly find a song inside your playlists, there’s finally some good news. The streaming platform is testing a new feature called “Find in playlist” that lets you search for songs within a specific playlist. This feature is currently available to a small group of users on the YouTube Music iOS app, though it should hit Android users in the coming weeks.

New YouTube Music feature makes finding songs in playlists easier

YouTube Music lets you create playlists where you can add your favorite songs. However, until now, there was no easy way to search for a specific song within a playlist. You often had to scroll through hundreds of tracks to find the song you wanted. Thankfully, Google now addresses this inconvenience.

Some YouTube Music iOS app users are seeing the new “Find in playlist” option within the playlist menu. For the uninitiated, the menu appears when you click the three-dot icon next to a playlist. It shows a bunch of options such as Shuffle play, Start mix, Play next, Add to queue, and Pin to Speed dial. The new option is now part of this menu.

While we have yet to see the feature in action, when selected, it should trigger a search bar where you can type the name of a song. The app should then show all matching tracks within that playlist, making it much easier to locate a specific song. However, the feature is not yet widely available and is currently part of an A/B testing phase, according to Android Authority.

There are no reports of Android users having access, which means Galaxy users are not yet part of the test. Hopefully, Google won’t take too long to make it available for everyone. We’ll be sure to let you know when the feature hits the stable channel.
