One UI 8 Watch Beta Launched for Galaxy Watch 5, Watch 6 Gets Beta 5

Samsung is extending the One UI 8 Watch beta program to more devices. The Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro have officially joined the beta testing lineup, giving users an early look at the Wear OS 6-based update. The Galaxy Watch 6 series, meanwhile, is now picking up its fifth beta update.

One UI 8 Watch Beta is now available for the Galaxy Watch 5 Series

The One UI 8 Watch Beta for the Galaxy Watch 5 series is currently only available in South Korea. Samsung may expand it to the United States later, but no additional markets are expected. Interested users can enroll in the beta program to explore the upcoming features and improvements before a public release. Registrations are open via the Samsung Members app. If you have a supported unit, you’ll see a banner to enroll your device in the beta program.

The Watch 5 lineup follows the Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic in One UI 8 Watch beta testing. Samsung recently released Beta 5 for the Watch 6 duo. The update, identified by the build version ending in ZYK2, addresses a time display issue related to Daylight Saving Time and includes overall performance improvements (via Aptivi).

As beta participants continue to share feedback, Samsung is actively refining the software to ensure a smooth and reliable final release. The Watch 6 series could soon receive the stable update globally. Samsung has already updated the Watch 7 and Ultra, while all 2025 models ship with One UI 8 Watch out of the box.

With the beta testing now underway, the Galaxy Watch 5 series could also pick up the stable version before the end of the year. The Galaxy Watch 4 lineup and Watch FE, meanwhile, are expected to skip beta testing. They should jump straight to the stable One UI 8 Watch once it’s ready.
