Expecting Big Battery and Camera Upgrades on Galaxy S26 Ultra? You Might Be Disappointed

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra continues to make headlines as new leaks surface about its camera setup and design. A trusted tipster has now shared detailed camera specifications and addressed one of the most debated topics among Galaxy fans — the 3x telephoto sensor. They also clarified the confusion around the battery capacity.
Galaxy S26 Ultra won’t bring major camera and battery upgrades, after all
According to Ice Universe, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature the following quad-camera setup on the back:
- 200MP (Main) – f/1.4, 1/1.3-inch, 0.6μm
- 50MP (Ultrawide) – f/1.9, 1/2.52-inch, 0.7μm
- 50MP (5x Telephoto) – f/2.9, 1/2.52-inch, 0.7μm
- 10MP (3x Telephoto) – f/2.4, 1/3.94-inch, 1.0μm
This configuration largely mirrors the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s setup. The 50MP ultrawide camera introduced earlier this year is carrying over unchanged, while the 200MP primary shooter and the 50MP 5x zoom lens are getting larger apertures. The sensors remain the same, with Samsung only offering slightly bigger openings.
If that already sounds disappointing, the tipster confirmed that the 3x telephoto camera won’t get a larger sensor. Instead, Samsung is switching to a smaller sensor, from 1/3.52-inch to 1/3.94-inch. There have been some unconfirmed rumors that the Galaxy S26 Ultra could get a new 1/2.55-inch sensor for the 3x zoom camera. The source also noted that the sensor in question is a 12MP unit, but Samsung is only utilizing 10MP.
Additionally, the tipster took the opportunity to debunk some recently circulating rumors, such as claims that the Galaxy S26 Ultra would feature a 5,400mAh battery. According to them, Samsung finalized the 5,000mAh capacity long ago, and it’s not changing. Increasing battery size would require extensive internal redesigns and testing of charging specifications.
If accurate (you should always be wary of unofficial information), these leaks suggest the Galaxy S26 Ultra will focus on refinement rather than radical change. While some might be disappointed by the lack of major hardware leaps, Samsung appears to be fine-tuning its proven Ultra formula for better balance, thermals, and ergonomics.
