US Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 Get Smarter with One UI 8 Update

Samsung’s 2022 foldables are getting a major new software upgrade in the US. The company has begun rolling out the Android 16-based One UI 8 update for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4, starting with carrier-locked units on Verizon’s network. A wider rollout should follow soon.

The update is now live for both foldable models, bringing a host of new features, security improvements, and AI-powered enhancements. The new firmware build number for the Flip model is F721USQU8IYIF, while that for the Fold is F936USQU8IYIF. The update also includes the October 2025 security patch, providing protection against the latest vulnerabilities.
Samsung has already pushed One UI 8 to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 in several other markets. If you are using one of these foldables, watch out for a notification about this update. You can also manually check for the update by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
One UI 8 delivers a smarter, faster, and more connected experience. The update integrates new Galaxy AI features, boosts performance and privacy, and refines the user interface across Samsung’s ecosystem. A key highlight is Gemini Live, Samsung’s conversational AI experience built into various system apps. It allows users to interact naturally with their phone without switching between apps, making multitasking smoother and more intuitive.
One UI 8 also refreshes the lock screen with an adaptive clock style that changes font automatically to complement your chosen wallpaper. It’s one of several subtle design updates that enhance the overall look and feel of the interface. Samsung is now gearing up to further enhance the Galaxy experience with One UI 8.5, which should debut with the Galaxy S26 series early next year.
