Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Fold 4 Get One UI 8 Stable Update

Samsung’s latest wave of software rollouts continues as the company brings One UI 8 to the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4. These two foldables have now started receiving the Android 16-based update across multiple regions. All newer foldables have already been updated.
One UI 8 reaches Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 are picking up the big feature update across several global markets, including Africa, Asia, and Europe. The new firmware build version is IYIF for both models. These foldables are also receiving the October 2025 security patch alongside One UI 8, making them the first Samsung devices to get this month’s security fixes.
As expected, the download size exceeds 3GB, which indicates a myriad of changes. The One UI 8 update brings a mix of visual refinements, functional improvements, and new AI-powered features, offering a smoother and more cohesive Galaxy experience. Samsung has redesigned several system apps, including Samsung Internet and Weather, aligning them with the new design language introduced in Android 16.
Samsung DeX has also received a major revamp, and so have Secure Folder, Quick Share, Modes and Routines, Auracast, and other key apps. The company has also introduced a new swipe gesture to access additional tools and settings quickly in the Camera app. Combined with better HDR tuning and stability improvements, photography on the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 should feel more intuitive and responsive.
These devices join a growing list of Samsung smartphones and tablets already running One UI 8. If you own a Galaxy Z Fold 4 or Flip 4, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install to check for updates. Since it’s a massive update, you might want to install it over a Wi-Fi connection to avoid data charges. The installation process typically takes a few minutes, after which your device will reboot with One UI 8.
