Samsung Launches Galaxy A17 4G in Germany with 6 Years of Updates

A retail listing yesterday hinted that the Galaxy A17 4G variant would launch soon. As it turns out, Samsung has now officially launched the Galaxy A17 4G in Germany. It comes at €199 and is listed on the Samsung Germany e-shop (via GSMArena).
Samsung finally launches the Galaxy A17 4G!
Much like its 5G counterpart, the Galaxy A17 4G shares most of the same specifications. It has a 6.7-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals. The rear camera setup includes a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 5MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro lens. On the front, it has a 13MP selfie camera.

The main differences between the 4G and 5G variants are network support and the chipset. The 5G model uses the Exynos 1330, while the 4G version runs on a Helio G99. Both chipsets provide similar day-to-day performance, though the 5G variant supports faster mobile networks. Neither model receives a chipset upgrade compared to their predecessors.
The Galaxy A17 4G comes with Android 15-based One UI 7 and promises six years of software updates, making it eligible for updates up to Android 21 or One UI 13, likely around 2030–2031. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging support.
After launching in Germany at €199, it’s expected to roll out to other markets in the coming weeks. Notably, the Galaxy A17 has consistently been one of Samsung’s best-selling smartphones, and that trend could continue in the coming months.
