Galaxy S25 Gets One UI 8 Beta 5 — Could be the Last One

Samsung has begun rolling out the One UI 8 Beta 5 update to the Galaxy S25 series. The latest beta release is widely available across Korea, Germany, the UK, and India. It should soon be available in the US as well. The update focuses squarely on bug fixes and enhanced system stability, making it likely the final beta ahead of the full public launch in September.

One UI 8 Beta 5 released for the Galaxy S25 series

The fifth One UI 8 beta update for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra carries the firmware build version ZYH6. The OTA (over the air) package weighs over 1.7GB for the Ultra model. It’s a fairly large beta build, and that’s because it contains plenty of bug fixes. This update addresses a bunch of known issues bugging beta testers.

Most notably, Samsung fixed the Purple Moon problem on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Many users reported the Moon appearing purple when shot at 100X zoom. The changelog also mentions fixes for a hotspot connection error, which has been another major issue. Devices struggled to connect to the mobile hotspot on Galaxy S25 units running One UI 8 beta.

Additionally, Samsung fixed an issue that stopped Air Command from launching when you pull out the S Pen from the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Other fixes include DND issues and overlapping of Quick Settings and the Notification panel. You can see the full changelog below.

With the stable One UI 8 update confirmed for a September rollout, starting with the Galaxy S25 series, this Beta 5 release sets the stage for that official launch. Samsung also plans to launch beta updates for more devices in the coming weeks. A wider public rollout may begin sometime in October, with most eligible Galaxy devices making the jump to One UI 8 before the end of the year.
