Galaxy S26 Ultra to Boost Performance with Faster RAM Upgrade

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series is still months away from its debut, but that has not stopped the leaks. Over the past few days, a flurry of reports has revealed details about the upcoming flagship lineup and hinted at a major shake-up in Samsung’s plans. Now, a fresh leak suggests that a significant RAM upgrade could be on the way for the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Galaxy S26 Ultra might offer 25% faster performance, thanks to RAM upgrade!
As shared by noted tipster Ice Universe, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature a faster RAM chip. More specifically, it might come with LPDDR5X RAM offering a data transfer rate of 10.7 Gbps. This is about 25 percent faster than the 8.5 Gbps RAM found in the current Galaxy S25 Ultra (review).

With this RAM boost, multitasking, app loading, and overall responsiveness should improve noticeably. It’s like upgrading to a wider, faster highway for your phone’s data traffic. The improvements will likely appeal to gamers, who may see smoother graphics and shorter load times in demanding titles. For everyday users, apps should launch instantly, and switching between tasks will feel seamless.
What remains unclear is whether Samsung or Micron will supply the RAM. Samsung previously relied on Micron for the Galaxy S25 series. It introduced its own 10.7 Gbps LPDDR5X chip last year. Micron also announced a similar chip in June with comparable performance. That leaves questions about supply that will hopefully be resolved soon.
How Samsung configures the rest of the Galaxy S26 lineup is still unknown. What we know, however, is that Samsung might equip all S26 models with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Elite. There are also rumors that 16GB of RAM will be available across 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options with the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
