It’s raining Galaxy S26 leaks today. We already know that Samsung might shake up the lineup by dropping the Plus model entirely. This aligns with multiple earlier reports that suggested the same. But the good news is that the Galaxy S26 Edge is expected to take its place.

We’ll indeed see a Galaxy S26 Pro, if GSMA database is any indication

That would leave the Galaxy S26 series with three models, similar to the current lineup, but with new names and possibly new designs: Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra, as previously reported by Android Authority. For reference, the current Galaxy S25 lineup includes the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25 Edge, and Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Among the Galaxy S26 trio, the Pro variant looks surprisingly promising. It’s still unclear whether it will offer true “Pro” features or if the label is mostly for branding. Either way, it signals a new direction for Samsung, which has never released a “Pro” model in the Galaxy S series before. The Pro version is expected to replace the base model.

Galaxy-S26-Pro-SM-S942U1

After firmware leaks revealed early details about the Galaxy S26 Pro, SammyPolice found additional evidence in the GSMA database. That lines up with what the firmware had already suggested. Earlier this month, a Galaxy S26 appeared in the GSMA listings with the model number SM-S942U. Now, a separate listing with the number SM-S942U1 confirms the change in Samsung’s naming convention.

So the Galaxy S26 Pro will launch alongside the Edge and Ultra models. If Samsung sticks to its usual schedule, the official announcement should happen in January. All three phones are expected to ship with One UI 8.5, which marks another update. Firmware strings also suggest the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 could be under the hood. However, it is still unclear whether this chip will remain exclusive to the Ultra or if Samsung will use a dual-chip strategy once again.
