Samsung’s latest smartwatches, unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked, come preloaded with One UI 8 Watch. Pre-orders are now underway, with retail availability set for July 25. In the meantime, Samsung has also kicked off internal beta testing for the Wear OS 6-based One UI 8 Watch on the Galaxy Watch 5 series.

Galaxy Watch 5 series spotted running One UI 8 Watch beta build on test server

As shared by updates tracker Tarun Vats, Samsung has begun internally testing what appears to be a One UI 8 Watch beta build for the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. The beta is currently live in South Korea, but don’t get your hopes up just yet. You can’t install it on your Galaxy Watch 5 or Watch 5 Pro at this time. The builds being tested carry the version numbers R905NKOU1CYCD and R925NKOU1CYCD, respectively.

Even when the beta becomes publicly available for these smartwatches, it will remain limited to South Korea and the US. This has always been the case with Samsung’s beta programs, so there are no surprises here. At the moment, the One UI 8 Watch beta is only available for the Galaxy Watch 7 series and the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2024).

If you are looking for the fastest way to try out the latest software, your best option is to go for one of the newly launched Galaxy Watch 8 models or the Watch Ultra (2025). These come running One UI 8 Watch out of the box. Plus, they’ll begin shipping within a week from now.

For those pre-ordering, there is an extra $50 discount available through our link. We are also including a free mystery box with every eligible order. This offer ends once the watches arrive in retail stores and pre-orders officially close on July 25.
