Galaxy Z Flip 7 key specs and features

Like the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung has also put effort into reducing the thickness of its new flip model. The phone measures 166.7 x 75.2 x 6.5 mm (unfolded) and 85.5 x 75.2 x 13.7 mm (folded). This is a noticeable reduction from last year’s Z Flip 6, which is 6.9 mm thick when unfolded and 14.9 mm thick when folded. The weight is just 188g, almost the same as its predecessor.

Elsewhere, one of the biggest upgrades is the cover screen — Samsung has increased the screen sizes on both the inside and outside of the Galaxy Z Flip 7, but the external one is particularly noticeable. The phone features a 4.1-inch Super AMOLED cover display, an increase from the 3.4-inch screen on the Z Flip 6.

As for the inner folding display, the phone features a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X — a slight increase from the 6.7-inch screen on the Z Flip 6. With slimmer bezels and 10-bit HDR support, the internal screen now offers a more immersive viewing experience.

In terms of brightness and refresh rate, Samsung now offers 2,600 nits of peak brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate on both the inner and outer displays. In comparison, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 offered only a 60Hz refresh rate and 1,600 nits peak brightness on the cover screen, so this is a welcome upgrade.

The phone comes with a bigger battery than its predecessor

While Samsung adopted a sleeker design with the Galaxy Z Flip 7, it didn’t cut corners on the battery. Instead, the phone packs a bigger, 4,300mAh battery — a 300mAh increase over the 4,000mAh battery in the Z Flip 6. As for charging capabilities, the phone comes with support for 25W wired charging, 15W wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse charging. An upgrade to 45W wired charging would have been nice, but it shouldn’t be a dealbreaker for anyone.

Now, coming to the processor segment, Samsung has integrated its in-house flagship Exynos 2500 processor. Built on its 3nm process, this chip should deliver solid performance and better power efficiency for power users. The chipset is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB and 512GB of storage options.

No upgrade in the camera department

Speaking of its camera system, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 comes with a similar setup to its predecessor, both inside and out. It boasts a 50MP primary camera with Dual Pixel PDAF and OIS, paired with a 12MP ultra-wide shooter on the outside. For selfies, it has a 10MP camera with support for 4K video recording at 30fps.

As for software, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 comes with One UI 8 out of the box, so you will get the latest Android 16 experience right from the start. One UI 8 brings a bunch of new AI features to enhance productivity. You also don’t have to worry about long-term support, as the phone will get seven years of major OS updates — all the way up to Android 23.
