Samsung has finally lifted the curtain on its much-anticipated Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE alongside the regular Flip 7. The new clamshell device comes as the most affordable option, making foldable tech accessible to a wider audience. If you are wondering whether the device is worth your money, here’s a quick roundup of its key specs across display, processor, camera, battery, and more, so you get a fair idea of what you are getting.

Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE key specs and features

While Samsung has been launching two foldable devices — a book-style and a clamshell — for several years, its 2025 lineup includes a more budget-friendly clamshell option. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE arrives with a similar design language to last year’s Galaxy Z Flip 6. More importantly, it retains most of the features, except for changes in the processor and software segments. Perhaps, this strategy allowed the Korean firm to introduce a more affordable foldable.

Starting with design and build, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE measures 165.1 x 71.9 x 6.9 mm (unfolded) and weighs just 187 grams. If you fold the device, it becomes much smaller at 85.1 x 71.9 x 14.9 mm, making it a perfect pocket-friendly choice. Furthermore, it features a Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back and an Armor Aluminum frame. The phone’s IP48 rating ensures it can survive underwater up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.

The Fan Edition model features a folding 6.7-inch Dynamic  AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 1080 x 2640 pixels. The screen offers a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and a peak brightness of 2600 nits. As for the cover screen, it packs a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 720 x 748 pixels, a 60Hz refresh rate, and 1600 nits peak brightness. These are the same display specs found on the Galaxy Z Flip 6. If you are looking for a larger cover screen, you should go with the Galaxy Z Flip 7, which has a 4.1-inch panel.

Exynos 2400 powers the Fan Edition foldable

Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is equipped with a powerful Exynos 2400 processor. The Korean firm has ditched Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, found inside the Galaxy Z Flip 6, in favor of its in-house processor. This is actually a smart move, as it allows Samsung to cut costs while still delivering solid performance. Built on a 4nm node, this chipset also powers last year’s Galaxy S24 flagships, so you don’t have to worry about performance and efficiency. The new foldable is available in two configurations: 128GB + 8GB and 256GB + 8GB.

Speaking of the camera, you get the same setup as the Galaxy Z Flip 6, of course, at a lower price. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE boasts a 50MP main camera sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), which has proven to deliver decent photography results. Furthermore, the phone sports a 12MP ultrawide lens with an f/2.2 aperture and a 123-degree field of view. For selfies, it features a 10MP front-facing camera that can record in 4K at 30 and 60 fps.

Decent battery life for everyday use

Regarding battery and charging capabilities, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE packs the same 4000mAh battery as the Z Flip 6. There’s no change in charging support as well — it offers 25W wired fast charging that promises up to 50% charge in about 30 minutes. Furthermore, it supports 15W wireless charging and 4.5W reverse charging.

On the software front, Samsung will ship the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE with Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box. Thanks to Samsung’s seven-year software update policy, you will get major OS updates up to Android 23. In comparison, the Galaxy Z Flip 6, which shipped with Android 14, may receive updates up to Android 21. This puts the Fan Edition model in a strong position for long-term use.
