At Samsung’s July 2024 Unpacked event, the company unveiled the Galaxy Ring. Naturally, one might expect the Galaxy Ring 2 to launch alongside the new foldables this July. There’s good news and bad news, though. The good news is that the Galaxy Ring 2 is indeed on the way. The bad news? We won’t be seeing it this year.

Early work has started on Galaxy Ring 2, launch still months away

According to GalaxyClub, Samsung has seemingly started early development on the Galaxy Ring 2. For the sake of clarity, let’s assume it will be called the Galaxy Ring 2. Though, of course, it’s up to Samsung what the final name will be. Technical details remain under wraps for now. The only thing we know is that Samsung has begun work on the Galaxy Ring’s successor.

But it might be too early to get excited. While the Galaxy Ring will soon mark its one-year anniversary, Samsung appears to be in no rush to launch the Galaxy Ring 2. According to the publication, it’s highly likely that the Galaxy Ring 2 will debut alongside the Galaxy S26 series, which points to an early 2026 launch. That timeline makes sense, all things considered.

Samsung has made some refinements to the current Galaxy Ring in recent months. Most recently, we saw a limited-edition two-tone Galaxy Ring, and we’ve obtained some exclusive photos of it. However, this edition is only available in South Korea, and there’s no word yet on whether it will launch internationally. In addition, Samsung has added two more sizes to the Galaxy Ring lineup.

That said, we can expect Samsung to make further tweaks before the Galaxy Ring 2 hits the market. Possible upgrades could include a self-adjusting design, more precise sensors, and improved battery life. It’s unlikely to be a complete overhaul, but there should be enough new features to distinguish it from the first generation. What do you think?
