Here’s Your First Look at Google’s Upcoming Pinterest-Style Feed

Expectations were high for Google I/O 2025, and we’d be lying if we said it didn’t meet or even exceed them. But there was something we didn’t come across during the recent event. The Information reported ahead of I/O that Google is working on a Pinterest-style feature in its app. Unfortunately, Google didn’t mention it at all during the conference, but a deep dive into the app’s code reveals an early look.

Google pulls its own Pinterest card with Images tab, in the works for now

As spotted by Android Authority, the latest Google app beta v16.20.48.sa.arm64 includes an upcoming Pinterest-style feature. In the app, there’s a new “Images” tab designed to help you discover and save inspiration on topics you’re interested in. Very Pinterest-esque, right?

According to the publication, when you first open the “Images” tab, Google asks you to pick a few interests. There a bunch of them, including fashion, food, DIY, or home décor. This helps tailor the experience to what you care about most. Once you select your interests, your feed fills up with images pulled from Google Search. The feed updates daily, so there’s always fresh content to scroll through and get inspired by.

You can long-press any image to save it to your own collections, share it with friends, search it using Google Lens, or hide images you’re not interested in. It’s designed to feel like a little corner of the internet just for you.

That said, it’s still early days. Right now, the feed sometimes shows random images that don’t quite match your interests. But that’s to be expected for a feature still in development. With this move, Google could become a serious competitor to Pinterest.

Besides this, the latest Google beta also reveals that Gemini will make sharing text responses easier, and there are some useful improvements on the way for foldable and tablet users.
