You May Not Like This Galaxy S26 Ultra Display Rumor

It’s been a flood of Galaxy S26 leaks lately, but a new one from a trusted insider stands out. In fact, if accurate, it could stir up some controversy. According to the latest tip, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature a noticeably larger punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera than the S25 Ultra. To make it worse, the display bezels could be thicker too.

Galaxy S26 Ultra’s display might look ugly

Ice Universe claims that the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s punch hole cutout measures around 4mm in diameter, making it the biggest front-camera opening ever used on a Samsung Ultra model. In fact, for years, Galaxy flagships have had the smallest possible camera hole among Android devices. However, with the S26 Ultra, that tradition seems to be coming to an end.

It’s unclear why Samsung is moving in the wrong direction here. The upcoming Ultra appears to pack the exact same front-facing camera as its predecessor, making this design choice inexcusable. The tipster adds that the bezels are either the same thickness or slightly wider than those of the S25 Ultra.

In Samsung’s defense, the change may not be intentional. The most likely explanation is the new M14 OLED material set used in the Galaxy S26 Ultra‘s display. The panel reportedly delivers improved brightness and energy efficiency but may have required a slightly different structural design, possibly forcing the company to increase the camera hole size and bezel.

If true, this could indicate that Samsung is prioritizing manufacturing efficiency and yield over design refinement this generation. Some industry watchers believe the company may be cutting costs on display production, possibly due to the high expense of developing its new M14 panels and integrating other hardware updates. Hopefully, the decision won’t backfire for Samsung.
