Will There Be a Galaxy S26 Pro After All? Report Suggests Not

Rumors are pouring in from all directions. One such claim Samsung has apparently canceled the Galaxy S26 Edge, which marks the end of the Edge lineup. The reason behind this decision seems to be poor sales, and as a result, Samsung may revive the Galaxy S26+. A new report also claims that the base variant of the Galaxy S26 lineup won’t be Pro.

SamMobile, citing “sources”, reports that Samsung won’t label the base variant of the Galaxy S26 as “Pro.” Instead, we’ll see what we’ve seen for years: the standard Galaxy S26. No Galaxy S26 Pro this time. It’s still a bit early to say whether this is the final piece of the puzzle, but it certainly seems possible.

Like most of you, we’d love to see some Pro-worthy features make their way to the base model to justify the name. However, a leak that surfaced today suggests there will be no camera upgrades for the Galaxy S26 Pro, if such a model even exists. Still, take that with a pinch of salt, as our own sources indicate that Samsung’s final decision is yet to be made.

What does seem more certain is that the base Galaxy S26 will pack a 4,300mAh battery. Beyond that, it may skip the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in favor of Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2600 chipset. The same chip may power the Galaxy S26+, while the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 could be exclusive to the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
