Here’s Why Samsung Delayed its Ballie Robot Again

Samsung’s Ballie robot has been one of the company’s most exciting projects. First teased at CES 2020, the robot quickly gained attention with its cute design and futuristic promise. The company later said it will hit the market in 2025 (more specifically, in the summer this year) in the US and Korea. But now, as 2025 comes to a close, the device is still not available for purchase. So what happened?
Samsung explains why Ballie still isn’t ready for launch
TechRadar recently asked Samsung for an update about the long-awaited robot, and the company shared a brief statement. According to the company spokesperson, “We are continuing to refine and perfect the technology to deliver an even more impactful customer experience.” Simply put, the firm seems to still be working on Ballie, and the robot isn’t ready for release.
Earlier this year, Samsung also opened a sign-up page on its website, allowing customers to register for updates about Ballie’s launch. At the time, this suggested that the company is gearing up to make the robot available in the market, as it did before releasing its other devices. However, that was not the case, leaving many fans wondering what caused the sudden silence.

For the uninitiated, Ballie is a small rolling AI robot with built-in cameras, sensors, a microphone, speakers, and a mini projector. The robot can move around your home, understand what’s happening around it, and naturally respond to you. It uses Google’s Gemini multimodal AI alongside its own language models to process voice commands, visual information, and sensor data.
As for pricing, rumors suggest that Ballie might cost over $2,000, which is quite expensive. Hopefully, we will hear more at CES 2026, where Samsung may talk about its AI robot. The company may also share the detailed reason for the delay, along with a revised launch timeline.
