US Galaxy S23 FE Users Can Now Download One UI 8

Samsung has rolled out One UI 8 for the Galaxy S23 FE in the US. The Android 16-based update arrives stateside about two weeks after its international release. The company has already updated a bunch of other Galaxy models to One UI 8 worldwide.
Galaxy S23 FE gets One UI 8 in the US
As of this writing, One UI 8 is available for carrier-locked Galaxy S23 FE units on select networks in the US. It carries the firmware version S711USQU6EYIF and weighs in at just under 3GB, making it a sizable upgrade. The update should soon reach all locked and unlocked units nationwide.
With One UI 8, Samsung has made several noteworthy improvements across system apps and UI elements. Quick Share now features a full-screen layout with separate tabs for Send and Receive, while Samsung Internet gains a refreshed menu layout and enhanced customization options. Likewise, Calendar, Clock, and Reminders now include expanded alarm, event, and reminder management tools.
Samsung has also strengthened Secure Folder with encryption and better app isolation. Additionally, Samsung DeX offers new display rotation settings and a more refined interface. The Camera app introduces a new swipe gesture to quickly reveal or hide control options. One UI 8 also enhances multitasking with an improved split-screen view and AI-assisted tools.
While not a visual overhaul, One UI 8 continues Samsung’s push toward a smoother, smarter, and more personalized experience. It strengthens privacy, improves app usability, and enhances the Galaxy ecosystem’s overall cohesion. Health and wellness features have also expanded.
Debuted in 2023 running Android 13, this is the third major Android OS update for the Galaxy S23 FE. The device is also eligible for One UI 8.5 and One UI 9, with the latter introducing Android 17. To check for the update manually, head to Settings > Software update > Download and install, and then tap Install now once the download completes.
