This Galaxy S25 Edge Camera Feature Is Headed to Other S25 Models

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge is now official, and with it comes a notable camera feature that gives this model a rare edge over the rest of the Galaxy S25 lineup. It is capable of recording log videos with both the front and rear cameras. No other Galaxy phone supports Log format on the front camera. However, Samsung may soon release this feature for the rest of the Galaxy S25 lineup, as well as the S24 models.

Galaxy S25 Edge supports Log video recording with the front camera

For the uninitiated, Log video recording allows you to capture footage with a wider dynamic range and more detail, which can then be fine-tuned in post-processing for a cinematic look. While log videos appear flat or washed out, you get a one-tap color correction feature in the Gallery app. You can also manually edit the footage for greater flexibility over color tones and details.

Introduced with One UI 7 on the Galaxy S25 series, Log support was originally limited to the rear camera. However, recent leaks have revealed that Samsung is preparing to bring the feature to the selfie shooter. There have been talks about it possibly arriving with One UI 8, but it looks like we won’t have to wait that long. The next update for the Galaxy S25 lineup should add Log video support to the front camera.

By the looks of it, Samsung always planned to offer this feature on both the front and rear cameras. However, it probably couldn’t test Log videos for the front camera enough to make the cut for the initial Galaxy S25 series launch window. With the S25 Edge arriving slightly later, Samsung had time to finish this camera feature and include it at launch.
