Samsung Prepares for One UI 8 Beta, Leaked Auto Blocker Update Reveals

If leaks are accurate, Samsung may release One UI 8 beta anytime now. Ahead of that, the company has started updating system apps with One UI 8 support, signaling a nearing beta rollout. Auto Blocker recently received an update that makes it compatible with the next One UI version. While the update hasn’t been released publicly for obvious reasons, a leaked version is available on third-party platforms.
Samsung updates Auto Blocker with One UI 8 support
Auto Blocker is a system app that blocks sideloading of apps from unknown sources, untrusted USB connections, unsecured 2G networks, and auto-connection to non-secure public Wi-Fi networks. Samsung recently rolled out version 1.2.02.1 of this app for Galaxy users. While it doesn’t appear to bring any new features, a newer version surfaced online.
We spotted version 1.3.00.1 of Auto Blocker on APKMirror, a popular third-party app store. As per the listing, this version is compatible with One UI 8, suggesting Samsung has already updated the app internally. While we do not recommend installing this unreleased update for a critical system app, you can see the listing here. You should only install updates from the Galaxy Store and Google Play Store.
Samsung gears up for its next OS release
Leaked internal builds have already revealed plenty about One UI 8, Samsung’s next major OS update for Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Based on Android 16, it builds upon the Android 15-based One UI 7 to refine the Galaxy experience, introducing subtle UI changes and feature enhancements. Rumors suggest the company will launch beta programs for the Galaxy S25 series before the end of May.
Even with a last-minute change in plans, Samsung looks set to begin One UI 8 beta testing in June. These kinds of updates for system apps suggest the company is preparing for the next big OS release. The stable version is expected in July, shipping out of the box in the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. Stick around for more information about One UI 8.
