Samsung’s Project Moohan (XR Headset) Tipped to Launch Next Month

Samsung has been teasing Project Moohan aka XR headset on multiple occasions. It’s hardly a secret, but still mysterious in every way. Rumors have been swirling that Samsung’s XR headset will launch this year, but so far, there’s no confirmed date. A new tip, however, may have revealed when Project Moohan is set to launch.
Samsung’s Project Moohan aka XR headset might launch alongside foldables
According to tipster PandaFlashPro, Samsung’s upcoming Project Moohan aka XR headset, might launch at the July Unpacked event. That means we could see the XR headset debut alongside the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. Speaking of which, Samsung will to host the July Unpacked either on July 9 or sometime in mid-July. Both these timelines have been tipped.

Notably, Google had previously confirmed during I/O that Project Moohan would launch later this year. PandaFlashPro also confirmed in the replies that Project Moohan will launch first in South Korea, and might roll out to more regions afterward. The exact regions are still under wraps, but you can count on it coming to the US.
As for pricing, it won’t be cheap. Sure, Samsung is expected to undercut the Apple Vision Pro, but the difference won’t be dramatic. You can expect similar features to what’s offered in the Vision Pro. However, Samsung’s XR headset will run Android XR OS, which is specifically developed for XR devices. Additionally, we’ve also learned today that spatial photo and video support could be coming to Project Moohan.
That said, don’t get your hopes too high just yet. Even if Samsung launches Project Moohan next month, it likely won’t be available in all markets right away. We might still have to wait until later this year for a broader release. We’ll keep you posted if we hear more.
