Samsung Teases China-Exclusive Foldables Launch Slated for October 11

Samsung is preparing to expand its premium foldable lineup in China, following the global launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7 (review), and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE (review). The company has now released a teaser hinting at the next-generation foldables, which are expected to be branded under the W26 series for the Chinamarket.

Samsung will likely launch W26 series foldables in China soon

The teaser on official website confirms that the new devices will be unveiled on October 11, 2025. As with previous launches, the event will include sweepstakes, such as the Galaxy Watch Ultra. While Samsung has already introduced its latest foldables globally, the W26 series is expected to remain exclusive to China, continuing a trend seen with earlier W-series devices.

Early images suggest that the new foldables will feature a premium design, including a golden frame over a black body. This design choice is akin to previous China-exclusive foldables, such as the W25 and W25 Flip. Functionally, the devices could closely resemble the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7.

More importantly, the W26 series will sport a book-style fold, and not a tri-fold mechanism. Samsung’s first tri-fold foldable is expected to launch later in 2025, separate from this event. And we might see a first official look at APEC summit in South Korea.

The W26 series may include customized versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. For the most part, they’ll essentially pack the same specs as the global models, and the emphasis could be on design and China-exclusive part. We’re not sure which chipset the W26 Flip will have, however.
