Samsung Surpasses 1 Million Users for Wallet Money and Points

In October this year, Samsung launched two new services, Money and Points, within Samsung Wallet. This helps users make mobile payments more conveniently while giving them the chance to earn rewards. The company today announced that the services have surpassed 1 million subscribers (combined).

Samsung Wallet Money and Points are gaining popularity among users

For the uninitiated, Samsung Wallet Money allows users to make payments without a physical card, making it a practical option for day-to-day purchases. They just need to link their bank accounts directly to the Samsung Wallet app. The company has teamed with Woori Bank to introduce this functionality. The best part is that users do not have to pay any fees to recharge their wallets.

Meanwhile, Samsung Wallet Points is a rewards program that automatically gives users points for making payments with Wallet Money. These points can later be used like cash for future payments at all offline card merchants. Moreover, there is no limit on how many points users can earn.

This All-in-One Experience has helped the services reach 1 million subscribers in a short period. Users particularly liked earning points when buying products through the Gift section in Samsung Wallet. To celebrate the milestone, Samsung has launched special promotions. Starting today (December 15), users who pay with Samsung Wallet Money/ Points can earn up to 10% of their payment amount back as points. Furthermore, they will receive bonus points: 1,000 for three payments and 2,000 for five payments.

“Samsung Wallet Money·Points has significantly enhanced customer convenience and benefits through the integration of digital payment and reward services,” said Vice President Chae Won-cheol, head of the Digital Wallet Team at Samsung Electronics’ MX Business Division. “We will continue to expand the Samsung Wallet ecosystem by providing more diverse and practical benefits, while continuously increasing customer value.”

It is worth mentioning that Samsung Wallet Money and Points are currently available only in the company’s home country, South Korea. There is no word yet on global availability.
