Samsung Spotlights Next-Gen AI Wireless Technology at Silicon Valley Summit
Samsung recently hosted the Silicon Valley Future Wireless Summit 2025 in Mountain View, California. The event focused on the future of AI-based wireless communications with the theme “Unlocking New Possibilities with AI-Centric Networks”. It attracted representatives from telecommunications operators, manufacturers, government agencies, and academic institutions.
The summit focused on AI-driven communication technology
The telecommunications industry has increasingly shifted its focus to 6G technology and the integration of AI into networks. In June 2025, the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) officially launched discussions on 6G standardization. This sets the stage for companies to research ways to advance next-gen wireless communications.
The summit mainly featured three sessions: New AI-Driven Services, AI Radio Innovation, and AI Network Innovation. Each session included a presentation and a panel discussion, allowing participants to ask questions. The New AI-Driven Services session focused on how AI can enable innovative wireless network services, including technologies like AR∙XR, and Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC).
The AI Radio Innovation session talked about AI-RAN technology and how AI can optimize the performance of wireless networks. Lastly, the AI Network Innovation session examined the impacts of AI-native communication technology. Topics included network automation, resource management optimization, and predictive maintenance.
Furthermore, the technology demonstration session showcased AI-RAN. Attendees were eager to learn how base station communication equipment with AI-RAN can automatically adjust settings to improve network quality.
“We are focusing on integrating AI into communication systems to maximize user experience and network operational efficiency,” said JinGuk Jeong, Executive Vice President and Head of the Advanced Communications Research Center at Samsung Research. “Through the Silicon Valley Future Wireless Summit, we will expand collaboration with the telecommunications industry and continue our efforts to advance next-generation communication technology.”
Meanwhile, Samsung continues to contribute to the development of AI-native next-gen communications through global partnerships. This year, the company has teamed up with KT, SoftBank, and KDDI Research to improve future communication quality. It is also part of the Verizon 6G Innovation Forum for 6G development.
